SILICON VALLEy

Technology, innovation, disruption, entrepreneurship

The Silicon Valley week provided great insights in a world of innovation, start-up, money, and speed. The week offered a rich combination of meeting venture capitalists, start-ups, established firms as well as fast growing companies and insights into their approaches to the changing world, backed-up with sessions with university professors. The week was intensive and has filled me with great energy and inspiration. Absolutely worth it.

At the heart of innovation and entrepreneurship
The Silicon Valley in the Southern San Francisco Bay Area of California, is well known for being a highly competitive software-driven environment with a strong emphasis on customer orientation and a clear focus on solving existing problems. As such, it has been the epicenter for tech start-ups, innovative thinking, and hopeful entrepreneurs for decades. But what made the Bay Area continue its upward spiral so far - network, speed, hard-working spirit? And how is it dealing with the COVID-19 consequences? Is Silicon Valley still ahead of the curve?

Learn from technology leaders and disruptive start-ups
During the Silicon Valley week, participants look at how to initiate and implement the innovation process from both a strategic and an operational perspective - also looking at the human cost of success. The group gains inspiration through expert exchanges, enhances the knowledge about latest technology trends, experience the problem-solving-attitude of the Silicon Valley during start-up interactions and visits companies which affect our day-to-day lives.

The Silicon Valley trip exceeded my high expectations. We exchanged with excellent and - even more importantly - experienced speakers who knew exactly what they were talking about. They allowed us to benefit from the innovation (and disruption) mindset by feeling the valley culture and learning from it. We got insights into established companies such as Tesla but also startups at different stages. The interaction with other alumni and current students was an additional enrichment.

My experience with this five days journey was an eye-opening, to say the least. It was very insightful and create a fantastic perspective of where the world is going and how to make a forecast and prepare yourself for that. The experience of being here in Silicon Valley, of visiting companies from different industries, with a mentality of abundance, a mindset with a collaborative culture, really will help me to open up the worldwide view that I can have of how to approach certain things, in my collaboration with my customers, my collaborators as well as my partners.
